    Perishable vegetables and items not all used up the first time around. Planned overs, too.

    Quite a bit less wasted food. Clearing freezer of really old food & making an inventory of what's there now, what I'm adding and using has made a big difference. Not as dramatic a change with the refrigerator butfind I dodn't have as many "lost" items.

    Kids will develop better eating habits if they help prepare the food they eat. Quite young kids CAN be given tasks.

    Make it a main ingredient. I like a variety of vegetables and often eat them as single items in my meals. I don't need meat in every meal and have vegetable main dishes quite often.If I have a vegetable I don't particularly enjoy, I tend to hide it so I use it up.

    Read labels on both food packaging and grocery store shelves for nutrition and the best money deal.

    Not surprised as see quite a bit of wasted food at friend's houses and neighbors, too.would save the money for emergency needs - usually house related and/or use to purchase a new food processor & better hand held blender.Might use some for special & more expensive ingredients for celebratory meals.
