    Today at church, I purposefully chose the split tomatoes (figuring they were the least desirable) from the garden offerings.  I also picked the "ugly" double tomato.  It was actually quite interesting looking.  I went directly home and used them in a caprese salad along with pesto I made from my own basil on Saturday.

    My Mom taught me many years ago to keep carrots in water to keep them fresh.  I still do that and LOVE my raw carrots.

    I had some cottage cheese that was going to expire.  I added a can of tuna and some leftover marinate to it and made a nice salad!

    I'm interested in not wasting food if at all possible.  Since we like leftovers, we don't have a lot of wasted food, like those who don't save leftovers for tomorrow's meals.  I am wondering about better use for coffee grounds, our main contribution to our compost blue bag and a cause of the bags to leak.

    its zuccini season. eat so much- its not my favorite but my best growing veggie. zuccini fritters shredded- zuccini for the freezerzuccini breadzuccini tiki masala very versitile

    M is pretty easy because he eats basically everything! but helping him figure out when he is full has been key recently, he likes knowing he can save things for later and they will still be there
