    Made an "ugly veggie" soup with wilting kale, a limp carrot, dried/brown fennel bulb, etc.  it was delicious!

    leftovers are in the eat first area and open yogurt containers.  Also, this challenge has helped me keep my fridge better organized in general so we don't get things pushed back and blocked only to spoil.  I also lined my veggie drawers with paper towels, which I think helps it cleaner and more user friendly

    I have reevaluated the amount of groceries I buy--especially the deals.  I think my appreciation for sales has been contained now that I just see it as a money making venture stores use to entice the impulsive :-)

    It's confusing.  I'm a good sniffer of fridge items.  Again, goes back to my life in the Caribbean where food safety regulations weren't as strict (sometimes for the worse but often for the better) and I learned that we can be flexible and still safe with food storage.  I'm less confident with dry goods/pantry items because of the whole...

    The Joy of Cooking or other old-school cookbook or of course the internet if I can bear the pop-up ads.  I'm pretty comfortable with making ingredient swaps.  That's what makes it fun!
