Hope everyone's having fun and learning a lot!
  • Reflection Question
    Planning Keep a Food Inventory
Are there food items you have been better about using up and not wasting since you started keeping an inventory of what's in your fridge?

I'm getting better at using fresh vegetables and dairy products but still have a ways to go.
  • Reflection Question
    Planning Plan a Leftovers Day
What kinds of foods do you like to eat as leftovers? If you or your household members don't like eating leftovers, are there any foods you would be more willing to try than others?

We eat leftovers all the time. The challenge is just giving us more ways to utilize things and keep it from the trash. I really don't like wasting food personally.

Had a nice dinner out of my garden, trying to use up all the tomatoes!
  • Reflection Question
    Shopping Glean or Forage
Did you know what "gleaning" was before you joined this challenge? Have you noticed any fruits trees or berry patches in your neighborhood that produce more than is being used up?

I didn't really think about gleaning before except from my own garden. I have had others glean stuff from my garden when I have too much to use on my own. I don't make a habit of looking in other peoples' yards and gardens but I know there are definitely a few apple trees, raspberry patches, and such that produce fruit that's not harvested.

Another day another bit of waste saved!
  • Reflection Question
Cooking Cook From Snout to Tail
How willing are you and members of your household to try eating recipes that use different parts of an animal? What do you think would be your biggest challenge?

I have already tried some organ meats and bones that many others usually would not eat or use. I think the biggest challenge might be getting over the mental block some body parts have for many Americans.
