Reflection QuestionShopping Buy Loose Produce and Shop the Bulk BinsHow has buying bulk impacted the amount of food you waste?
Kathy Dols 8/07/2022 8:53 PMToday at church, I purposefully chose the split tomatoes (figuring they were the least desirable) from the garden offerings. I also picked the "ugly" double tomato. It was actually quite interesting looking. I went directly home and used them in a caprese salad along with pesto I made from my own basil on Saturday. -
Reflection QuestionCooking Revive Limp ProduceWhat successes have you had in reviving limp produce? What can you do so that your produce doesn't go limp in the future?
Kathy Dols 8/07/2022 7:08 AMMy Mom taught me many years ago to keep carrots in water to keep them fresh. I still do that and LOVE my raw carrots. -
Reflection QuestionCooking Reimagine LeftoversHow have you modified what you do with leftovers to make sure nothing goes to waste?
Kathy Dols 8/05/2022 3:19 PMI had some cottage cheese that was going to expire. I added a can of tuna and some leftover marinate to it and made a nice salad! -
Kathy Dols 8/02/2022 7:52 AMI'm interested in not wasting food if at all possible. Since we like leftovers, we don't have a lot of wasted food, like those who don't save leftovers for tomorrow's meals. I am wondering about better use for coffee grounds, our main contribution to our compost blue bag and a cause of the bags to leak.
