Reflection QuestionPlanning Learn About and Choose a Meal Plan StyleWhat meal plan method works for you and why? Have you tried some in the past that didn't work?
Rachel Braaten 8/02/2022 8:27 PMIt didn't take long, browsing through food planning techniques, before I found one that was intriguing to me. So I began implementation! -
Reflection QuestionCommunity Watch a Documentary About FoodHave you ever thought about food going to waste on this scale before?
Rachel Braaten 8/02/2022 8:24 PMI'm glad to know that people who donate food in good faith can't be prosecuted if someone gets sick from eating the food they donated. AND, that businesses can get tax credit for donating food, it just needs to be weighed. -
Reflection QuestionCommunity Send it Down the Grape VineDescribe the conversations you had and if you learned anything about what other people think of the topic of food waste.
Rachel Braaten 8/02/2022 8:22 PMI've already talked with a friend and my spouse about this challenge. I've shared the link with my friend, and I'll be telling my spouse's parents about it when they get back from a trip. -
Reflection QuestionStorage Learn About Food StorageDid you find that you were storing food incorrectly? Which items have you changed?
Rachel Braaten 8/02/2022 8:20 PMThis was a brief exercise, just reading an article listing different foods and how to keep them fresh longer. I guess I'll keep oranges and avocados away from other fruits, and move my apples to the fridge after a week on the shelf. -
Reflection QuestionPlanning Create a Weekly Meal PlanAn average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money? How has meal planning helped you avoid waste?
Rachel Braaten 8/02/2022 8:18 PMI actually made a list of food items I have in my 1) fridge 2) freezer and 3) pantry, and began filling out a food plan for this month! -
