It didn't take long, browsing through food planning techniques, before I found one that was intriguing to me. So I began implementation!

I'm glad to know that people who donate food in good faith can't be prosecuted if someone gets sick from eating the food they donated. AND, that businesses can get tax credit for donating food, it just needs to be weighed.

I've already talked with a friend and my spouse about this challenge. I've shared the link with my friend, and I'll be telling my spouse's parents about it when they get back from a trip.

This was a brief exercise, just reading an article listing different foods and how to keep them fresh longer. I guess I'll keep oranges and avocados away from other fruits, and move my apples to the fridge after a week on the shelf.
  • Reflection Question
Planning Create a Weekly Meal Plan
An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money? How has meal planning helped you avoid waste?
